Description
A walking tour with Albert Hosp, who tells anecdotes about music in Krems, buildings of architectural merit, courtyards and piazzas and opens the gates of the Göttweigerhof chapel, a masterpiece of the early Gothic period with paintings and frescoes dating from the early 14th century. Afterwards, Gerda Ridler gives a guided tour of the exhibition of Claire Morgan in the State Gallery of Lower Austria.
Stein an der Donau is part of the UNESCO World Culture and Heritage Wachau region. Albert Hosp, the Artistic Director of the festivals Imago Dei and Glatt&Verkehrt, leads a walking tour through the alleys of Stein on the trail of Mozart and other musicians who are connected with Krems. He points out the unique architectural features of the historical streets and invites to a viewing of the Göttweigerhof chapel, a masterpiece of the early Gothic period with almost complete wall frescoes.
Claire Morgan engages with the elemental conditions of humans in their habitat. Born in 1980 in Belfast, [Us1] [LH2] the artist works through personal experiences as well as her observations on the cycle of nature and the relationship between nature and humans. In the specific space of the installation in the State Gallery of Lower Austria she shows a geometrical-like, filigree composition of colourful plastic rubbish, plant seeds, feathers, specimens and other materials. Gerda Ridler, the gallery’s artistic director, provides insights into the development and background of the exhibition.
