Born 1956, is an Iraqi writer who lives in Germany. He is a regular contributor to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Neue Zürcher Zeitung and Die Zeit. He was awarded the Bruno Kreisky Prize for his engagement. Recently published in German: Soad und das Militär, 2021.
